The biggest attraction in Torrevieja is its climate. World health organization ranks it as the healthiest climate in Europe! In case this is not enough Torrevieja also offers entertainment, night-life, museums, festivals, parks, history, sports and much much more.
If you haven't rented a car, a bus station is only a short walk away or take a taxi and discover the area. In general bus connections are very good in the area and there is no need for renting a car unless you have planned to travel a lot or play golf. If that's the case, we definitely recommend renting a car, after all you don't want to be carrying the clubs yourself do you?
There is a wide choice of attractions for holiday makers of all ages and interests: water sports, including scuba diving and sailing schools, golf with plenty of world class golf facilities within 10 minutes drive, jeep safari parks, horse riding, natural, water and theme parks not mentioning traditional weekly Friday markets where you can make a bargain and enjoy the local atmosphere. The city's festivals are a particularly memorable experience in Torrevieja. The “Eras de Sal”, the International Cuban Dance and Polyphony Contest, that takes place between July and August every year. It brings together the best National and International groups and Chorales, singing Habaneras – Cuban rhythms and dances that citizens of Torrevieja brought back home together with sugar for the exchange of salt that was transported to Cuba.
Museums are popular Torrevieja sightseeing, featuring the Museum of Sea and Salt and the Holy Week Museum of Tomas Valcarcel. The Holy Week Museum of Tomas Valcarcel, created in 1992, is open every day except Sunday and the week before Easter. This museum was named for a local artist and displays statutes, sculptures, embroidery and paintings based on the showcased custom of passion processions throughout Torrevieja.

Torrievieja has a long tradition with the sea, and in 1802 the administration of the Royal Saltworks was transferred to Torrevieja from La Mata. The purpose of the museum is to show how the town grew through its link with the sea and the production of salt. The museum is divided into themes, including undersea archaeology, coastal navigation, the town`s fishing fleet, Spanish navy, carpentry, the making of sails and saltworks. Many crafts made with salt, photographs and archaeological finds are displayed at the museum, as well as model boats and a model Torrevieja sailing ship.

This is actually part of the Sea and Salt Museum and represents a nice tour of a submarine. This submarine `S61 Delfin` went out of service in December 1974 and the town of Torrevieja was given the last battle flag of the submarine. Since 2004 the Museum of Sea and Salt has displayed the submarine as part of the floating museum, allowing visitors the opportunity to discover the inside of a submarine. Next to the `Delfin` is the `Albatros 111` which belonged to the Customs Vigilante Service and it patrolled the coastline for over 30 years.

The circular Moor`s Tower is a landmark on the Cape Cerva headland. It was built in the 14th Century as a lookout for possible invaders, raiders and pirates. Around it is a park called the Mirador Turistico de la Torre del Moro and in it are many footpaths from where there are fine views of the coastline. In the park are restored buildings and a children`s playground.

The Museum of Contemporary Art is housed in the former Ayuntamiento del Ravel and it contains a very large collection of contemporary art. Most of the exhibits are from the second half of the 20th Century and are by Spanish artists. On display are works by Salvador Soria, Tom Miro, Amalia Avia and Eusebio Sempero. Also exhibited are art works by Arcadi Blasco, Eduardo Sanz, Juan Genoves and Jose Fuentas as well as the Grup d`Elx.

The Museo Esculor de Pusol started as a collection of agricultural tools salvaged by teachers. They were concerned that rural customs and agricultural methods could be lost when they were replaced by modern technology. The museum`s aim is that children should be aware of the lost customs of their grandparents and its main purpose is education. Many items have been donated and the displays include domestic and other kinds of objects as well as those related to agriculture.
Families with children can visit natural, water and theme parks.

This Water Park in Torrevieja is a great day out for all the family and is only 20 min walk from the Torrevieja appartment. It has rapids, Kamikaze & Zig Zag water slides. Wave pool, swimming pools & infants pool. Jacuzzi, mini golf, restaurant, cafeteria & lots more. This fun water park is a great place to visit when the sun is beating down, taking a dip in the pools is the only thing that will cool you off. The life guards keep an eye on what's going on making sure everything runs smoothly. You have the option to bring food and drink with you, or you can use the existing bars and restaurants (fast food), on the premises.

Although relatively small Aqua Park Flamingo packs a lot in so the whole family is sure to have a fun day out. The park features children's slides, waterchutes, jacuzzis and sunbeds as well as the more usual swimming pools. Umbrellas and sunbeds are free as is parking. What more could you ask for? It is open from June to September from 11 am to 7 pm (6 pm in September).

The park located just inside the city of Benidorm offers 12 swimming poools, numerous slides, water falls and other water games for children and adults such as Splash and Big Bang. All water pools are watched by qualifies lifeguards. It offers free parking, shops, restaurants and lots of shade from the trees to cool down.
In Torrevieja there is a large family park Parque de la Naciones or Dragon Park with a fantastic dragon slide, bouncing castle, boating lake with ducks and many more for the joy of kids during the day. At night your kids can have fun in a Funfair.

Located in Valencia this complex is devoted to science and culture. Made up of five main elements: the Hemisfèric (IMAX cinema and digital projections), the Umbracle (a landscaped vantage point and car park), the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum (an innovative centre of interactive science), the Oceanográfico (the largest aquarium in Europe with over 500 marine species) and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (which takes care of the operatic programme). It comprise a nature reserve of mainly water whilst the remainder is reedbeds, marsh grassland and scrub. The lagoons are in a depression with an artificial channel from the sea to the La Mata Lagoon, from where it is linked to the Torrevieja Lagoon, where salt is extracted. Many birds are attracted to the lagoons including pink flamingos (8000 in population), avocet, black-winged stilt and many other species. Beside La Mata Lagoon are paths and observation towers. There is also an information centre with an interactive exhibition.

Take a day out to visit a famous Rio Safari Elche park which is a mix between a zoo, a safari park and a community farm, it is even more appealing if you have young children with you. Between the mini-train ride and animal shows you are free to wander the park, feed the animals as you go so bring an extra bag of carrots and nuts. In summer bring your swimming gear as you can freshen-up in a big swimming pool with water slides. Refreshments and food are available at the Rio Safari but it is definately nicer to take a picnic under one of the 4000 palm trees.

Located in Benidorm the park it is divided into 4 sections: Europe, Asia; America and Pangea ( named after a famous vulcano) presenting over 1500 animals and lots of plants typical for a certain region along side with attractions. From the port of Torrevieja you can take either a 30 minutes coastline trip or a tour to the unspoit Tabarca island which is a protected marine reserve. Don't forget your snorkle. Just off the coast of Torrevieja there is a variety of wreck and reef diving sites for both advanced divers and the beginners. With average visibility 15 to 25 meters and temperature ranging from 13ºC in winter and over 29ºC in summer you can enjoy various rock formations and amazing underwater life.
